VETRA – Vêtements de Travail – Built for Work. Born for Life.
VETRA was founded in Paris in 1927 by Édouard Beerens. What began as a small workshop producing aprons and overalls developed into a company that focused on functional workwear from the outset. The name is derived from ‘Vêtements de Travail’ and perfectly encapsulates the brand’s clear, practical character.
From the very beginning, VETRA has manufactured its own products, relying on robust materials, simple cuts and a design that remains focused on the essentials. This philosophy continues to shape the collections to this day: uncomplicated, durable clothing that proves its worth in everyday working life as well as in modern city life. Despite growing international attention, VETRA remains committed to a deliberately classic range – jackets, trousers, work-style shirts and overalls that do not deny their origins yet remain versatile.
In the 1990s, the brand also expanded into countries such as Japan and the USA, where its minimalist, functional style was met with a great response. The product range has remained deliberately clearly structured and continues to rely on reliable materials such as cotton twill, moleskin and linen. The aesthetic is straightforward, understated and timeless. The simple style is complemented in every new collection by a vast colour palette.
To this day, VETRA remains a family-run business and stays true to its core philosophy: to create high-quality, uncomplicated clothing that makes a statement without trying too hard. It is not trends that matter, but practicality – and the understated elegance of simplicity.
