MAKR CARRY GOODS was founded in 2007 in Winter Park, Florida. It is a design brand that’s made in the USA, not heritage heavy, not nostalgic but contemporary and crafted. The team designs and produces state of the art leathergoods, bags, rucksacks and has moved into interior design and furniture by adding a small studio goods range with workstools, skateboards, wallhooks and hardware in 2010.
“Something you want, realize you’ve always wanted, and, here’s the key: something that fits perfectly alongside all the other things that you own. A product that does not shout, but instead simply slots into your life in silence, adjusts to your needs; becomes a part of your everyday.”

MAKR combines traditional materials and almost artisan techniques with high tech production. From the sketch done by pencil AutoCAD is used to show an exploded view of every component to make the product. Then this 3-dimensional view is broken down into productions patterns. All cutting is done by laser allowing MAKR to cut without using traditional dies. All stitching of the small leathergoods is done by hand.
MAKR uses HORWEEN leather for many of their products. Founded in 1905 HORWEEN is one of the oldest leather tanning companies in the US. They have specialized in Horse leather. MAKR uses all parts of the skin: horsefronts, straps and the famous CORDOVAN
founder Jason Gregory: ”This isn’t a glamorous operation; we just make stuff. We care more about the engineering that about the fashion side of it….”
“I try to make products that I hope are not trend based.”
